Baishe Shraban (2011) is the second film of Srijit Mukherji.
To solve the mystery of a serial killing in Kolkata, Abhijit Pakrashi (Parambrata) took the charge of the case. But as he got no way out even after several months, he was advised to take the guidance of Prabir Roychowdhury (Prasenjit), a suspended police officer who was expert in solving serial killer mystery. During investigation they found that the murders were taking place in the night of the dates that were the death anniversaries of famous Bengali poets. They suspected Nibaran Chakraborty (Goutam Ghose), an eccentric poet. In the night of 29 June, the death anniversary of Michael Madhusudan Dutta, they found the poet dead. They closed the case stating that the psycho murderer committed suicide. After a month on the day of 22 Sraban (7 August), the death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, Prabir called Abhijit to his home and disclosed that he was the actual murderer and he did it only to get back his honour in police department. He planned this as he knew that for solving a serial killer’s mystery police department should have to consult him. This day he had chosen to kill himself as being a police officer he could not mercy a dangerous murderer. He committed suicide reciting a poem of Tagore.
