Whenever we talk about director Srijit Mukherji and his films it has to be different and there was no exception to this in his upcoming film, Hemlock Society. The title Hemlock Society itself says what will be the film about. Hemlock which means several poisonous plant were used in Ancient world to kill oneself by drinking its juice, for e.g. Greek philosopher Socrates was forced to drink Hemlock and die, in Srijit’s Hemlock Society it is almost the same.
In this film Ananda (portrayed by Parambrata) runs an institution named as the title itself. The institution guide those people who want to kill themselves. Ananda feels most of the suicides fail due to lack of coherent technique and he want to help those people who wants to end their lives. Megha (Koyel) is one such trainee who feels lack of motivation to carry on her life. The whole film evolves around the trainers and trainees associated with the institution. It seems that Srijit is again all set ready to rock the cine lovers with his so called ‘Hatke’ film.
