Girls who work as sex escort has never been main subject in Indian Films, let alone Bengali. 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag', a bollywood movie released in 2007, showcased Rani Mukherjee playing a character as an escort, but that didn't take the subject this seriously like Subrata Sen, the director of the releasing-today movie 'Koyekti Meyer Golpo'.
In the movie, Raima Sen, Parno Mitra, Tanushree Chakraborty, Locket Chatterjee and Mumtaz Sorcar are ordinary girls who got ditched by their guys and decide to choose hooking as profession to prove that they can play with boys and their egos. Along with the profession, they maintain their middle class livelihood.
Men's ego and the issues has been shown in producer Rana Sarkar's Bedroom as well, and complications in sexual relationships was the key subject of director's earlier film Bibar. But this time, with the dashing five mega stars, 'Koyekti Meyer Golpo' has taken a shape usually seen in hollywood films. But question is, is audience in Bengal ready to perceive such a bold script?
