Recently Jwaharlal Nehru University has made its place in page one due to some turmoil within a national level political party's student wing; at the same time this prestigious institute has made its place in page three also. And this time credit goes to its alma matter, director Srijit Mukherji.
Srijit recently went to his former institution to held rounds of talk with the university officials for permission to shoot his upcoming film, Kakababu in the premises of JNU. He aspires to mix his memories of JNU days in this film.
When we tried to know why did he chose this film now although when he has already achivied huge success both commercialy and criticaly in his previous three films which had an off beat touch. He replied, "its becuase of my niece Spananda. She said 'Mamu, why dont you make films for us? I couldn't watch "Baishe Srabon" or "Hemlock Society" as both of them were adults.' And this is a high time for this film."
Based on Sunil Ganguly's novel this film will have none other but director's favourite Prasenjit Chatterjee a.k.a. Boomba da as the lead. On this note, Srijit said, 'I can't think anyone else other than Boomba da for this role. When Kakababu enters the room everyone looks at him and who else has that much of screen presence other than Boomba da.'
