On 7th of May when the whole world was celebrating the 151st birth centenary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore, Ustad Rashid Khan launched his upcoming and maiden Rabindra sangeet album, Boithoke Rabi in a city mall.
While talking about the album, ustad Rashid said, ‘the idea of the album and to pay tribute suddenly cropped out from Purbayan Chatterjee’s brain when we were having a chat at veteran actor Moon Moon Sen’s house’. He further added, ‘the album is basically a fusion of classical Sitar and contemporary DWO’.
‘It was tribute to the noble laureate’, said the Svf officials whose musical arm V music are behind the c.d. of the album.
Satarajit Sen directed and produced this album is to contain popular Rabindra sangeets viz. Rakho rakho ke, Kar Milano chao, Aji jhorer rate along with other songs.
Apart from the singer and persons associated with the album other celebrities who were present there to add the glamour of the show and pay homage were, Moon Moon Sen, Rahul, Abir Chatterjee, Locket Chatterjee and Parno Mitra.
